About This Course

This course introduces speech and language difficulties commonly seen in school settings, including speech sound difficulties, stuttering, voice disorders, and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). Using real-life examples and classroom-focused explanations, the course highlights how these difficulties affect learning, behaviour, social interaction, literacy, and mental health.  

By the end of this course, you will have: 

• identified the challenges that students with speech and language difficulties may face at school.   
• gained knowledge about the impact of speech and language difficulties.   
• demonstrated understanding of how schools and teachers can help students with speech and language difficulties. 

About the Speaker

Yaling Tang   

Yaling Tang  is a certified Speech Pathologist who holds a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from Flinders University, Australia. She has approximately 12 years of experience at OST Therapy, working with children with communication disorders in both English and Mandarin Chinese. 

Yaling adopts a person-centred approach, recognising it as essential for achieving the best outcomes when supporting children, teenagers and adults with a range of speech and language difficulties. She also has extensive experience mentoring and supervising therapists in the treatment of stuttering, and has delivered numerous training courses.
